New search filters on ClinicalKey!

News from ClinicalKey:

We're continually working to make ClinicalKey even better, and we are excited to announce new functionality that has been added with a recent Technical Release.

Filters:

The ClinicalKey filters have been moved to the left column to improve search filter discoverability.  Users will have the ability to collapse and expand filters.  For tablet users, the filters are defaulted to a collapsed view.  Users can simply click to expand.  When multiple content items are selected from a search results page, the filters at the top (result count, show, and sort by) will be hidden and the actions will be displayed.  You can filter your results by source, date ans study type.

Remember, go to www.clinicalkey.com and log in with your OpenAthens account to access over 600 clinical e-journals and over 1100 clinical e-books from Elsevier. Images, Videos and Medline search also included at www.clinicalkey.com

Registration required the first time you log in, follow on screen instructions or ask Library staff for details

New Procedures added to ClinicalSkills.net!

Message from ClinicalSkills.net about new procedures added to the resource:

We've recently loaded three new procedures to clinicalskills.net. They're all in the Primary Care section; two are in the category Contraception and the third is in the category Sexual Health. They are:
  • Checking the threads of an intrauterine contraceptive device;
  • Giving a contraceptive injection; and
  • Taking female genital swabs.
These procedures have all been demonstrated by our authors Melanie Rogers, Senior Lecturer/Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care) at the University of Huddersfield, and Emma Fawcett, Cervical Screening Mentor/Coordinator, NHS Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield.

Please check out the new procedures and let relevant colleagues know about them! As always, we are very happy to hear any feedback about our procedures--just click on the black Feedback button on the right-hand side of the screen to get in touch with us.

We'll be in touch again about more primary care procedures very shortly.

Remember:
You can access ClinicalSkills.net direct from the Trust intranet (search library resources) or off-site at www.clinicalskills.net with an OpenAthens account.
