Green Libraries Week

During this summer’s heatwaves, the UKHSA recorded that there were 2,877 heat-associated deaths and academics have estimated that at least 42% of these were due to human-induced climate change. Climate change puts extra strain on the NHS by impacting people’s health. But the NHS has committed to become net zero in its own emissions by 2040 and small, positive actions are starting to add up.

During Green Libraries Week, 21-28 October, the theme is ‘climate facts for a greener future’. The library service, which aims to help our trust be an evidence-based organisation, is sharing resources to support staff in working towards the trust's Green Plan.
