I don’t know if you have
taken a look at the Healthcare Assistants section on clinicalskills.net
recently, but it’s been growing rapidly. We recently added three additional
procedures to this section:
Giving a bed bath (HCAs)
Washing a patient’s hair in
bed (HCAs)
Facial shaving (HCAs)
These procedures, along with
the others in this section, have been edited to make them suitable for an
audience of HCAs, particularly those working outside of a hospital environment,
although the content remains applicable for HCAs working in acute settings.
The last pages of all the
procedures include checklists that can be used for practice assessments. The
checklists, some of which include assessor questions, can be printed
separately.
To find the new content, from
the Dashboard, click on Procedures, then Healthcare Assistants, then Healthcare
Assistants again, then on the procedure title. Alternatively, from the
Procedures page, put a key word from the title into the Keyword Search.
Look out for more HCA
procedures in this section early in 2018!
