All the procedures on Tracheostomy Care have been reviewed
by the authors and updated. These procedures are:
Care of the individual with a tracheostomy: stoma care and
cuff management
Care of the individual with a tracheostomy: suctioning
Care of the individual with a tracheostomy: humidification
and oxygen therapy
Care of the individual with a tracheostomy: changing the
inner tube
There have been few changes to the content of the procedures
as a result of the update, but these procedures now reference the publication
from the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death, “On
the Right Trach?” (NCEPOD, 2014).

To find these procedures, just click on Procedures, then
Adults and then Tracheostomy Care; or alternatively, click on Procedures and
then put “Tracheostomy” in the Search field and click “Apply”.
