Free trusted evidence on the Zika virus from Wolters Kluwer

The Health division of Wolters Kluwer has launched the Zika Resource Portal, a single point of access to trusted clinical knowledge and current information to help healthcare professionals worldwide stay up-to-date on the rapidly spreading virus. The portal provides complimentary access to leading evidence-based point of care clinical, learning and research solutions from Wolters Kluwer, as well as continuous updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO).

In conjunction with the portal, Wolters Kluwer is launching a multifaceted digital educational campaign featuring Zika experts sharing the latest findings in a variety of formats, including podcasts, journal articles, blogs, interactive videos and Twitter Talks. The portal and campaign will also feature information for consumers, including symptoms to look for and preventive measures to protect against contracting the virus.

The campaign centrepiece is a question and answer-style video debuting August 19 featuring Betsy Todd, RN, MPH, CIC, clinical editor of the American Journal of Nursing and an infectious disease expert. She will address the current state of the Zika virus and answer questions submitted by August 16 via Twitter and Facebook using the #WKZikaResources hashtag. Questions that are submitted using that hashtag may also be answered during an upcoming Twitter Talk.

“Wolters Kluwer is proud to provide these digital resources to help combat the spread of the Zika virus,” said Diana Nole, CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health. “The public fear and anxiety that churn in the wake of a global health crisis are often the result of the unknown. Unlike Ebola, which has been studied exhaustively for decades, Zika is still largely a mystery, although medical professionals and researchers are continuously uncovering new aspects of the virus. By sharing our expertise and premium clinical guidance, we provide the public and healthcare community with relevant, trusted on-demand information during this rapidly evolving situation.”
