Special Film Club: Girl on the Train- TONIGHT!
We are running a special Film Club event on Tuesday 21st February to help raise money for Children with Cancer UK, The Head of Library Service's chosen charity for the London Marathon. The format is much as usual, but will start later than usual in the hope that this might boost attendance; please feel free to bring a friend/ partner with you this time!
We will screen The Girl on the Train 7.45pm for 8.15pm start and will be asking attendees to make a suggested donation of £5. We do usually ask for a contribution to running costs, so hope that this does not seem too steep (We've undercut Vue and The Odeon, anyway!).Venue as always is the Auditorium, Academic Centre, Maidstone.
Please do share with colleagues, the more the merrier, and you will be helping me reach the target of £2000 for this brilliant charity. Read more about Emma Aldrich's Marathon Challenge here: http://passmetheprosecco.blogspot.com

Display for February- Cardiology
Each month the Trust Libraries create a display and resource bulletin on a clinical topic. For February 2017, it is on CARDIOLOGY . The display is on show at both Libraries and the resource bulletin (which lists a selection of our top resources for CARDIOLOGY plus other library resources and services) can be accessed here. REMEMBER, the Libraries also hold many books on CARDIOLOGY at the WG section on the shelves and search our catalogue for titles: (www.southeastlibrarysearch.nhs.uk)
The Cardiology bulletin is available in the Libraries and here. All the other Library resource bulletins can be accessed on our website.
You can access e-journals such as Cardiology Clinics, Journal of Cardiology and Heart with an OpenAthens account. You can also access e-books such as Advanced cardiac imaging by Nieman K and Textbook of interventional cardiology by Topol E J also with an OpenAthens account.
You can borrow the most recent editions of Making sense of the ECG: a hands-on guide by Houghton A and Oxford handbook of cardiology by Ramrakha P as well as many other Cardiology books at WG on the Library shelves.
Search and access e-resources via our catalogue www.southeastlibrarysearch.nhs.uk with your OpenAthens account.
An OpenAthens account is required to access e-resources, go to https://openathens.nice.org.uk/ to self-register for an account.
PLEASE contact the Libraries if you have any issues with registering for an OpenAthens account, accessing e-resources or anything else we can help you with! Don't forget that we also offer training in literature searching, accessing online resources and study skills. We can also perform literature searches for you!
Plus we also have access to PCs, quiet study space and a leisure reading and DVD collection which you can borrow from AT NO CHARGE.
We hope to see you in the Libraries soon!
