ESMO 2016: A Therapeutic Update on the Management of Patients with Breast Cancer
Results from several key clinical trials evaluating new therapeutic approaches for patients with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) were presented at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) 2016 Congress on October 7–11 in Copenhagen, Denmark. These results have the potential to change clinical practice. In this activity, you will listen to two leading experts in breast cancer management and research as they review the key data presented at ESMO 2016 and discuss the implications for current practice and future research.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be better able to do the following:
1. 
Review the unmet needs in metastatic breast cancer (MBC)
2. 
Analyze clinical trial data of therapies for the treatment of breast cancer presented at ESMO 2016
3. 
Develop data-driven, individualized treatment plans to improve treatment selection and outcomes for patients with breast cancer

Display for January 2017- Clinical Support Workers

Each month the Trust Libraries create a display and resource bulletin on a clinical topic. For January 2017, it is on CLINICAL SUPPORT WORKERS  The display is on show at both Libraries and the resource bulletin (which lists a selection of our top resources for CSWs plus other library resources and services) can be accessed hereREMEMBER, the Libraries also hold many books for CSWs, search our catalogue for titles (www.southeastlibrarysearch.nhs.uk

The CSWs bulletin is available in the Libraries and here.  All the other Library resource bulletins can be accessed on our website.
You can access e-journals such as the British Journal of Healthcare Assistants (click here and enter your OpenAthens account to access) and the Royal Marsden Manual online (access via the Trust intranet, no password required or off-site www.rmmonline.co.uk, OpenAthens account required).  You can also access clinical procedures online from Clinicalskills.net via the intranet or off-site with an OpenAthens account at www.clinicalskills.net 

 You can borrow the most recent editions of Clinical skills for healthcare assistants by P Ingram and Essential knowledge and skills for healthcare assistants by Z Rawles. We also have a CSW Notice board in both Libraries to help you keep up-to-date.

Search and access e-resources via our catalogue www.southeastlibrarysearch.nhs.uk with your OpenAthens account.

An OpenAthens account is required to access e-resources, go to https://openathens.nice.org.uk/ to self-register for an account.

Please contact the Libraries if you have any issues with registering for an OpenAthens account, accessing e-resources or anything else we can help you with!  Don't forget that we also offer training in literature searching, accessing online resources and study skills. We can also perform literature searches for you! 

Plus we also have access to PCs, quiet study space and a leisure reading and DVD collection which you can borrow from AT NO CHARGE.
