Resource of the Month: SouthEastLibrarySearch
Each month the Trust Library service will be promoting a different resource available to all members of staff.
This month it is our online catalogue, SouthEastlLibrarySearch, available at www.southeastlibrarysearch.nhs.uk from anywhere.
You can check the book and journal holdings of all Health Libraries in KSS and can also access electronic books and journals via the catalogue (Athens account required to access e-resources).
You can also renew your books online with your library card and PIN number (ask us for these if you don't have them) as well as request and reserve items.
A VERY useful resource!

Display for September- Nutrition and Dietetics
Each month the Trust Libraries create a display and resource bulletin on a clinical topic. For September 2016, it is NUTRITION & DIETETICS. The display is on show at both libraries and the resource bulletin (which lists a selection of our top NUTRITION & DIETETICS resources plus other library resources and services) can be accessed here. REMEMBER, the Libraries also hold many NUTRITION & DIETETICS books on the shelves in the QU 145 section.
The Nutrition & Dietetics bulletin is available in the Libraries and here. All the other Library resource bulletins can be accessed on our website.
You can access e-journals such as Nutrition, Nutrition & Dietetics and the Journal of the American Dietetic Association with an OpenAthens account. E-books are also available with an OpenAthens account including Advanced nutrition and dietetics in gastroenterology by M Lomer which was purchased at the request of the MTW Dietetics Dept . You can borrow the most recent editions of Medical nutrition and disease: a case-based approach by L Hark and Nutrition: a handbook for nurses by C Best from the Trust Libraries as well as many other titles (in the QU 145 section on the book shelves)
Search and access e-resources via our catalogue www.southeastlibrarysearch.nhs.uk with your OpenAthens account.
An OpenAthens account required to access e-resources, go to https://openathens.nice.org.uk/ to self-register for an account.
Please contact the Libraries if you have any issues with registering for an Open Athens account, accessing e-resources or anything else we can help you with! Don't forget that we also offer training in literature searching, accessing online resources and study skills. We can also perform literature searches for you!
Plus we also have access to PCs, quiet study space and a leisure reading and DVD collection which you can borrow from.
We hope to see you in the Libraries soon!

CPD content overview:
Current
Strategies for the Long-term Assessment, Monitoring, and Management of Cystic
Fibrosis Patients Treated with CFTR Modulator Therapy
|
The
content for this activity is based on the satellite symposium, “Current
Strategies for the Long-term Assessment, Monitoring, and Management for Cystic
Fibrosis Patients Treated with CFTR Modulator Therapy” that was presented at the
39th European Cystic Fibrosis Society Conference in Basel, Switzerland on June
10, 2016. The emergence of novel targeted agents, that directly correct CFTR
loss function alleles, has created new treatment opportunities for patients with
cystic fibrosis with advanced disease. Knowledge of the role of these agents in
the clinical setting is quickly evolving and will require physicians stay
acquainted with the latest data as well as evidence-based treatment guidelines
in order to achieve optimized cystic fibrosis patient care.
